A legacy of letters was the basis for this compelling biography of a spirited American woman whose youth in China shaped her liberal outlook on life, love and loss.

As the only child of Dorothy Rowe and Benjamin F. March, Judith March Davis is uniquely qualified to tell this story. Surrounded by treasured artifacts that her parents brought from China, she was deeply influenced by her mother’s Asian outlook. Educated at Oberlin College and the University of Michigan, Judy wrote professionally in Traverse City, MI, and on the staff of Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey. She and her husband Ethan Davis are now retired in Prescott, AZ, where they remain active Unitarian Universalists.
