The book begins with example warms-ups and stretches, moving on to cover posture and all basic gymnastics shapes, which are instrumental in performing more complex skills. These skills are then covered in the next sections; Jumps, Skills, Rolls and Leaps. Bringing all of these skills together, the book then demonstrates how combined, these skills can be used to create routines. In this new edition there are judging sheets enabling the gymnast to track and record their progress a great addition to an already excellent book.

“I was one of the kids you occasionally see tumbling ‘Head Over Heels’ along the road – why walk on your feet when you can walk on your hands? This enthusiasm never left me, leading to a career teaching gymnastics where, along the way, I have learnt a great number of hints and tips that I use every day teaching the sport. I hope to share this knowledge with as many people as possible through our books, apps and DVD’s. I hope you get as much enjoyment from our products as we have had making them.”

"This book is born from some of the most enjoyable times in my life, as I have said in my previous book, I spent a lot of time upside down as a child. Many of these moments were with a great friend of mine playing around at gym, in our homes and more often than not in the garden. We would spend hours making up balances and routines; some of which became sections of our competition program and lots were just to show off to our very obliging families who dutifully watched our endless shows. This book contains a number of these skills which will inspire you to get active and involved in gymnastics."
